The Division of Biology & Medicine is dedicated to doing truly cutting-edge research that will have a strong impact in our community and world. Our departments, centers, faculty and graduate trainees all collaborate toward that goal. BioMed’s 7 PhD programs and 2 masters programs offer training within their specific programs but there is a strong component of interdisciplinary collaboration. Our centers are hubs of collaboration and include the Carney Institute, Legorreta Cancer Center, Center on the Biology for Aging, Center for Computational Molecular Biology. The Office of Graduate Studies helps programs to develop important programming in professional development, fellowship workshops, support community groups and help strengthen important mentoring partnerships crucial to our training.
